Plumbing code: fixture center lines

  • 0
By code, toilets need to be centered of off adjacent walls 15".  When roughing in a toilet, this means 15 1/2" from the framing to take into account the thickness of the Sheetrock.

If a sink is directly next to the toilet, and does not have a vanity, then the center line of the sink shall be 30" from the center line of the toilet.

If the sink sits on a vanity, then the same rule for spacing off the wall applies (15").
